Who needs EPN enrollment?
Requirements depend on your operation and drivers. California employers of required commercial Class A or B drivers and certain endorsed Class C drivers generally must enroll. Corporations, LLCs, and partnerships may need enrollment even with only one driver. We’ll help you identify the next steps for your situation.
Is a requester code the same as a DOT number or MCP?
No. It identifies your employer’s EPN account for driver record monitoring. It does not replace a USDOT number, Motor Carrier Permit, or insurance. Your requester code may be required for an MCP application.
Can I still manage EPN on paper?
Effective April 1, 2026, California DMV requires participating employers to conduct EPN business electronically, including documents, driver records, and payments. We can guide your company’s authorized contact through the setup requirements.
